FADE IN:

EXT. GRAVEYARD - DAY

Rain pours down on the twins KAZIAH RIOT and LEARA RIOT, as they look down, emotionless, at their parent’s grave.

A branch snaps, the twins run for cover. The sound of a battle rages on in the distance.

EXT. GRAVEYARD EXIT - DAY

KAZIAH and LEARA walk over freshly dead bodies. KAZIAH wipes blood off his sword with his cloak.

EXT. TOWN STREET - DAY

The twins reach the town, they see families shopping together and they look at each other with pained memories.

FADE TO BLACK:

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

KAZIAH and LEARA are stirred from their sleep. They sneak to the door and peek through. Blood is everywhere, their parents lie lifeless on the floor. A group of men are searching the house for the children.

KAZIAH and LEARA silently gasp and flee to the window.

FADE TO BLACK: 

EXT. TOWN - DAY

KAZIAH and LEARA are psyching each other up. When KAZIAH gets hit in the face with a ball, he yells at a bunch of kids as they approach the twins retrieving their ball.

                               AHHHH, Watch what your doing.

KAZIAH has a vision of himself and his sister at their age, he realised these kids are orphans like himself, he stops and calms himself down while introducing his sister and himself.

                                                         KAZIAH

                                Ahhh sorry about that, just you have terrible aim…. (Sighs) I’m KAZIAH and this  is my sister LEARA.

Most of them hang back in awe, but one kid, KANE, comes forward.

                                                          KANE

                                Hi im Kane… Woah, so where did you get your sword… Can I hold it?

                                                           KAZIAH

                                Ok, here just don’t scratch it.

                                                            KANE

                                 You should come play soccer with us, it will be cool please.

KAZIAH looks to LEARA for approval she smiles and nods and leaves the boys to play as we hear KAZIAH boasting about how good he is.

                                                            KAZIAH

                                  I don’t think you’re ready for this because ya know im awesome at everything.

EXT. SOCCER FIELD – DAY

                                                            KAZIAH

                                  Ha, In your face.

KAZIAH is winning at soccer, but is suddenly distracted.

EXT. SHOPS – DAY

LEARA gets hit by a tranquilizer dart and falls to the ground.

 EXT. SOCCER FIELD – DAY

KAZIAH turns and looks to where the tranquilizer was fired, two men stand aiming at him, and he puts his sword up just in time to deflect the dart.

He turns sees the men kidnapping LEARA as they take her away, he turns again and yells at the kids to run as more enemies come out of the bushes.

                                                             KAZIAH

                                      Run, get out of here.

All get away except for KANE, They are surrounded and KAZIAH tries to protect him but a man distracts KAZIAH while another stabs KANE in the chest making him fall to the ground and die. KAZIAH screams in rage.

KAZIAH gets into battle stance, eyes his opponents carefully, within seconds he has killed all the assailants. 

KAZIAH picks up KANES body and walks off the field.

EXT. ORPHANAGE DOOR - EVENING

KAZIAH, still holding KANE, knocks at the orphanage door, the matron answers, wailing in distress. KAZIAH hands over the child and he whispers something in her ear, she nods and closes the door.

KAZIAH turns, visible anger on his face, puts his hood on and runs into the night.

EXT. FOREST - EVENING

KAZIAH is running swiftly through the forest, tracking the path of the kidnappers.

KAZIAH stops, hears yelling, finds a good vantage point hiding in a tree, to observe.

EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE – NIGHT

KAZIAH examines from a distance as enemies carry LEARA up to the entrance. An unknown man bursts out of the main door yelling at everyone. KAZIAH watches with confusion, not understanding who he is.

UNKNOWN MAN

Where’s my nephew? You had one job, to get both of them, useless the lot of you.

KAZIAH waits and watches, when he knows everyone is inside he climbs the building up to a vent and enters.

INT. VENT - NIGHT

KAZIAH crawls through vent, staring into each room as he quietly passes. Through the fourth vent he sees her.

INT. VENT TO LEARAS ROOM - NIGHT

LEARA is whispering to a MAN whose face KAZIAH cannot make out. He finally sees his face, he thinks it is the same man he saw outside the warehouse earlier.

 INT. LEARAS HOLDING CELL - NIGHT

KAZIAH drops down in front of LEARA and stabs his blade through the man’s stomach, he starts coughing up blood, KAZIAH looks into his eyes confused as the ENEMY smiles back at him.

                                                            ENEMY

                                    You have done well my son.

The man is their father, KAZIAH frozen in place as LEARA pushes him out of the way and pulls the sword out of their father.

Door unlocks and swings open as UNKWOWN MAN walks in, KAZIAH confused noticing the man he just stabbed wasn’t the man from outside.

                                                            KAZIAH

                                     What the shit! There’s two of them.

UNKWOWN MAN laughs and points at ENEMY on ground.

LEE

HAHA, so I see you have already met my brother... will someone get in here and fix him up!!! Can’t have him dying yet, wouldn’t that ruin a family reunion… That’s right I’m LEE by the way your uncle.

Then LEE turns away slamming the door shut behind him.

KAZIAH frozen in place looks towards LEARA, she reassures him that their father is still alive.

                                                            LEARA

It’s true… Their twins as well and our father is still alive well… maybe not for long.

The room fills with smoke. The twins are getting drowsy, they look at each other then they fall unconscious.

KAZIAH and LEARA are psyching each other up. When KAZIAH gets hit in the head with a ball, he yells at a bunch of kids and gives chase.

KAZIAH has a vision of himself and his sister at their age, he realised these kids are orphans like himself, he stops and calls the kids over to him.

Most of them hang back in awe, but one kid, KANE, comes forward and starts asking the twins about their swords. KAZIAH shows him and smiles at the boy.

They invite him to join them in their soccer game. KAZIAH looks to LEARA for approval she smiles and nods and leaves the boys to play. 

EXT. SOCCER FIELD - DAY

The man is, ENEMY, confessing that he is KAZIAH and LEARAS father. KAZIAH frozen in place as LEARA pushes him out of the way and pulls the sword out of their father.

Door unlocks and swings open as UNKWOWN MAN walks in, KAZIAH confused noticing the man he just stabbed wasn’t the man from outside.

UNKWOWN MAN laughs at ENEMY on ground. He introduces himself as LEE, ENEMY’s brother. LEE demands his soldiers to fix up his brother. Then LEE turns away slamming the door shut behind him.

KAZIAH frozen in place looks towards LEARA, she reassures him that there father is still alive.

The room fills with smoke. The twins are getting drowsy, they look at each other then they fall unconscious.

BDM125 Treatment

Vengeance: A tale of two riots.

Genre: Adventure/Traumatic            Date: 8/03/2015

Log-line: Two orphan twins out for revenge for their parents death.

1. Opening scene:
Kaziah Riot (Main character) and Leara Riot (also main character) standing at their parents graves in the rain, Leara using powers to place flowers on gravestone. Kaziah then saying we will still find the people who murdered our parents even if it kills us to Leara as she adds in to the death.

2. Set up:
Sudden noise hiding in the bushes. Both disappear fast with Kaziah letting out an annoyed gasp. Defeating the enemy fast, with both characters walking away from gravesite. Kaziah using clothing to wipe the blood off his sword.

3. Theme Stated (Happens during set up):
Both characters walking threw a town seeing families together, both feeling sorry for themselves but not speaking to each other about it, With Kaziah trying to remember his parents but cant.

4. Catalyst:

Dangerous people run into them, pulling out their weapons to fight both of them, all enemies dressed the same, one enemy demanding orders. Kaziah and Leara wondering who the enemies are. Killing all enemies except the leader as they watch him flee with enemy saying something along the lines of seeing them again. 

5. Debate:

Kaziah and Leara discuss whether to go after the one last enemy, Kaziah not being bothered but only to have Leara give him a look that they need to go after him and find out why the enemy is trying to kill them.  

6. Act Two Plot Point:

Both accepting another challenge along with finding their parents murderers.

8. Fun and Games:

Kaziah and Leara both make their way through all villagers, tracking the man who attacked them before. Kaziah getting a soccer ball kicked at his face. Kaziah getting really pissed off but only with a couple of kids who look homeless running up to him apologizing, Kaziah first snapping at them but then seeing them reminding him of his old self, he only shakes his head and says that its ok.

9. Midpoint:

Homeless kids admiring Kaziah and Leara, asking mainly Kaziah because Leara scares them if they can stay and play soccer with them. Kaziah getting all excited looking towards Leara for permission having Leara rolling her eyes at him then waving at him and nodding. Kaziah starting to act like a kid, getting excited with the little kids pulling him over towards where they were playing. Kaziah feeling happy because he can have just a little fun.

10. Bad guys close in:

While Kaziah is finally have fun the enemy that attacked is back but with more of his friends and have captured Leara shooting a needle making her unconscious, Kaziah trying to yell at the kids to get them to run away but one kid not running fast enough and then getting killed by one of the enemies.

11. All is lost:

Main boy that reminded Kaziah of himself gets killed right in front of him. Kaziah in full shock. Only to get a laugh from the enemy then with them fleeing while kidnapping his sister.

12. Dark Night of the soul:

Kaziah quickly running over to the boy holding him, tears running down his face, Kaziah not sure what he's going to do. All goes dark for him, sister gone and boy getting caught in the cross fire. Blames himself that the boy is dead.

13. Act Three Plot point:

Sadness and regret turning into anger and rage. Kaziah decides to go after them as fast as he can, firstly apologizing to the boy’s parents and telling them that he will get revenge as well for what they have done. Kaziah catching up to the murderers stealthily gaining on them threw the bushes. The enemy gets to their destination, a big building hidden away in bushes, With Kaziah making sure not to be seen, hiding and analysing the situation. Kaziah then is able to get closer waiting for his chance to strike but only to have a man that he does not know walk out and greet the men. Kaziah then hears the new foe say, "How’s my Niece", Kaziah in shock not knowing who he is, "Where’s my Nephew!" he then yells as well, Kaziah not knowing what to do, him thinking that all his family is dead but now he has an uncle. Kaziah then listening finding out that his now known uncle was the man who hired the men in the first place but was supposed to kill them. Ending with all of the enemies disappearing inside the big building with his sister.

14. Finale:
Kaziah finding a way into the building, killing everyone he runs into without them seeing him while he searches for Leara. Then finding a room seeing Leara awake standing against the wall. Talking to someone then seeing the same guy who called himself his uncle, he looked different wearing different raggedy clothing while talking to Leara, Kaziah had enough, anger over taking him sick of waiting opening the vent and jumping out landing in front of Leara, rage filled blood grabbing his sword and stabbing the enemy in the gut. Kaziah finally looking into his enemies eyes, but then shocked from the man smiling at him…"My son", He then whispers.

15. Final Image:

Kaziah in shock not moving starting to shake while holding his sword still stabbing his father. Then with Leara quickly stepping in pulling Kaziah away from their father while she pulls his sword out of his father’s stomach. Kaziah not sure what to do, standing still in shock yet again. Enemy then entering room, Kaziah realizing that the guy he stabbed looks exactly the same as the enemy. Enemy starts to talk laughing at his brother Layton, enemy introduces himself as Lee (Antagonist), Lee then looking down at his brother while he dies, but then starts yelling, "someone come get my brother and fix him up", then looking back too Kaziah he mentions that he will see them both soon. Both Layton (Father) and Lee (Uncle) leave the room. Kaziah still in shock not understanding what’s going on, he looks to Leara trying to read her, but she still shows nothing until she speaks, Leara then mentioning it’s all true, he is what she remembers, our father is alive…well maybe not for long. The scene ending with room filling up with toxic smoke making both Kaziah and Leara's vision blurry until they both get knocked out.

Bio:
Leara is the youngest of the Riot orphan twins with her brother (Kaziah) being the oldest.
She is very quiet mainly so she can analyse situations plus she doesn't like people at all. Her life hasn't been the best from a young age with her parents being murdered when she was 6 right in front of her and her brother, they both escaped the murder scene but didn't know where to go. Both Riot twins were on the run from then on trying to survive without their parents but not really knowing how, they could only turn to each other and look out for each other. The twins were running from town to town trying to survive but barely could until a unknown samurai clan found them starving to death, taking them in and making both of them one of their own. There she trained in the art of killing, her main focus is to get revenge on the people who murdered her parents, but along the way she realises she has another power that others like her brother don't have, that she doesn't understand herself but is very good at it.
Both twins decide to leave due to vengeance taking over their minds and hunt down the murderers.
Leara Riot has a good judgement in character knowing who to trust and who not too unlike her brother, because when she was little she was attacked by an enemy who gave her the scar on her face, now every time she looks in the mirror she knows not to trust anyone because not everyone is the same.
Her main weapon she uses is a Katana but her preferred weapon to use are a lot of knifes, which she keeps hidden under her cloak.
Her main goal is revenge even if it kills her.
"To the death", Leara and Kaziah Riot say to each other which only they understand.

BDM125 The opening scene

Beowulf

The opening scene in Beowulf shows the queen walking through the  hall while a feast is going on with everyone drinking and having fun. It continues on with the king making a toast with everyone chanting, but off in the distance a beast soon known as Grendel cant stand the sound and comes to attack where the noise is coming from.
The opening scene says that the movie is going to be loud and all good things must come to an end.

-Dramatic irony
The mood that the colour in the opening scene sets is warm and happy from the colour gold and the torches lit through the hall but then all the torches blow out filling the room with darkness making the mood change to anxious, cold and mysterious then with the fire turning blue when Grendel enters turning the mood to fear and dark.
The protagonist in the film is Beowulf who is a monster hunter who has come to pay a family debt, but mainly does it for the glory.
The antagonist first of all is Grendel but soon changes after his death.
The inciting incident is when Grendel first attacks the hall, the main point why Beowulf has come too slay their monster.
The plot point is when Grendel attacks their hall while Beowulf is present with the two fighting until Grendel decides too flee, while running away Beowulf jams Grendel's arm between the main doors having it hacked off, leaving Grendel going back to his cave then dying with his mother the second antagonist wanting revenge for the death of her son.
